The Selangor Pipe Band was established with a vision to unite musicians from diverse backgrounds through the powerful and timeless sound of pipes and drums. While our foundations began with members and alumni of St. John’s Institution under the banner of Johannians Pipes & Drums, growing interest from musicians beyond that circle inspired the formation of a band that proudly represents the State of Selangor.
Today, the Selangor Pipe Band stands as a vibrant and inclusive ensemble, welcoming dedicated pipers, drummers, and brass musicians from across the wider community. Whether an experienced performer or an emerging talent with a passion for music and culture, members of SPB share a common commitment to excellence, discipline, and tradition.
More than a performing ensemble, we are a community built on shared growth, structured training, and mutual respect. Through national parades, cultural festivals, official ceremonies, and public performances, we carry the pride and identity of Selangor in every note we play.
By opening our membership to the public, we have created a platform where talent is nurtured, leadership is developed, and unity is celebrated. Each performance reflects not only our musical standards, but also the collective dedication and spirit of our members.
